Organisation Development
As we are passionate about developing people, it follows that developing organisations is an outcome from developed people. We believe that part of the Organisation Development (OD) world is about people using the right 'tools' to make their work more efficient and effective.
Many of the approaches introduced here are what The People Developers have sucessfully used in the past within the context of OD. The tools that we introduce here have been part of our own personal and professional development in terms of being trained up to use them.
Process Mapping
Essentially, Process mapping is a Project Management tool. Process mapping is an exercise to identify all the steps and decisions in a process in diagrammatic form which -
- Describes the flow of materials, information and documents
- Displays the various tasks contained within the process
- Shows that the tasks transform inputs into outputs
- Indicates the decisions that need to be made along the chain
- Demonstrates the essential inter-relationships and interdependence between the process steps
- reminds us that the strength of a chain depends upon its weakest link.
Review and Learn
The People Developers are committed to helping people to learn from any experience they may have gone through. Often, one of the neglected areas of learning is the opportunity to have some quality time to reflect and review what has actually happened during an intervention and to make sense of it. Review and Learn is an approach which fits this gap nicely as it involves a number of creative, thought provoking and stimulating ideas which allow may allow many light bulbs to be illuminated!
Structured Debriefing
Structured Debriefing (SD) is a simple and effective method for reviewing experiences. It follows a set of 'ethical' values built on fairness and equality. Structured Debriefing is now applied widely by its trained practitioners – such as The People Developers.

Logo Visual Thinking
LogoVisual Thinking (LVT) uses simple tools to enhance individual and collective understanding. It visually represents ideas and issues so they can be manipulated in order to support thinking and planning processes. It works as a transitional object and fosters shared mind-space. The methodology has proven to be effective across the widest range of ages and abilities, irrespective of sector, from foundation stage teaching in schools to strategic planning in large organisations.

Confidence with Meetings and Minutes
Confidence with Meetings and Minutes focuses on the role of the minute taker/meeting organiser and their relationship with the chair. Our delegates have told us that this course would have maximum impact if meeting chairs attended along with their minute takers. We can offer alternative courses on running or chairing meetings if there is sufficient demand.
Action Learning
Action Learning is an accelerated learning tool which can be applied to any number of different workplace (and personal) issues and challenges. In Action Learning, groups or 'sets' meet regularly with others in order to explore solutions to real problems and decide on the action to take. The People Developers are experienced facilitators of this problem solving approach.
